I Keep a Journal

I was asked in PM (I don't do private messaging or massaging, it's in my "about me"), how long I've had a journal for.

Journaling is not something that comes naturally to me. I enjoyed writing other things but not that. I never kept a diary as a kid or as a teenager. I'm usually very internal about my thoughts and feelings.

I had to acknowledge the occasional usefulness of it, especially while not enjoying much opening up to someone else (either). Writing down words can bring clarity to my mental process. I sort of kept one after my mid 20's.

Writing about feelings is more recent, and mostly I do it when I feel too stressed.

I also turn to dream analysis for stress relief. I used to have a dream journal, that I don't need anymore, I identified how I function and what usually connects to what.

I have different journals, about different things.

Cool. Sounds a useful thing to do and always a good thing to externalise our thoughts, worries, fears and feelings etc.
