Is Verizon down ? [I Love Internet]

My sister has been trying to call and text her boyfriend but she's getting no answers. When she calls it says " welcome to Verizon Wireless the number your trying to dial has been either changed disconnected or no longer in service ". I looked online it seems like a lot of people are having these problems. She hasn't been able to talk to him since 1 on Wednesday she said she needs to get a hold of him to see if hes coming this week or not. Is Verizon service down right now ? When will it be fixed ?
