Am I wrong by disobeying the store's policy?

I get coupons each month for a large grocery chain store. I don't use all the coupons, but hate throwing them in the trash because I feel others could use them.

So I place the coupons I don't want by the item in the store.
An employee saw me doing this and said it's against store policy to allow other customers to have coupons.
I told them to call the police on me because I'm going to continue sharing the coupons instead of throwing them in the trash.

Screw the employee, as someone who actually extreme coupons and have taught others to do the same, there's nothing wrong with leaving a coupon. I've done it, especially if they're close to expiring and I know I have no use for them and ordered way more coupons than anticipated. They're not losing money with coupons at all.

There won't be much they can do other than not redeeming the coupons given.

I won't name, but a grocer in Canada, once fired a person for taking what they had already thrown out to a Foodbank.

@SW-User The grocery store I'm talking about is Kroger's.
Are they up in Canada?
SW-User
@Mentalicious Nowhere near where I have lived. So unless they aren't in Ontario but somewhere else in Canada, I don't think so as I've lived in small urban centres, large metropolitan areas, and small towns here.

Your intentions is kind and caring/sharing (to others) which is rare these days, but you have to obey the store policy....or don't get caught lol

@suchaslife I just place them by the item when no one is looking and scurry like a little rat lol

@Mentalicious I have two cats, buy the food, ship it and hopefully the savings offset the shipping costs ;-) Kidding

@SW-User I have bought a lot of cat food when visiting my mom in another state, but I would never pay for shipping. That would cost way too much.

It would be better to send her the money and coupon to get the cat food at her store.
She once had 100 cats smh

@Mentalicious That's not quite I was getting at, but appreciated. :) Sharing a coupon published is never a crime, and the cents they are trying to save in denying far outweighs the cheapness of their actions.

Maybe you could leave them in front of the store, that way it shouldn't be against the store's policy?
Mentalicious · 61-69, M
@Melpomene But the employees would just throw them in the trash
agonyaunt · 41-45, F
Thats a good thing to do.the employee is a twat for being a jobs worth
NenaRussa · 22-25, F
I think that is much better than throwing them away.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
Not wrong at all. I give away coupons too when i can
JennaBug · 31-35, F
I think it's a really nice thing to do.
