Have people lost their ability to problem solve?

I work daily in a job where I talk to people looking for help with various things. I don't know if it's a generational thing but geez people can not problem solve for themselves. This blows my mind and seriously depresses me for the worlds future.

These are simple obstacles that the average person should be able to resolve and they act completely helpless looking for someone else to resolve. Sorry for the rant, but it's tiring thinking for the world. LOL.... POURING A LARGE GLASS OF RED NOW

I think this is a product of laziness and limited exposure to well-rounded experiences. Nowadays people are allowed to exist even when they are woefully inept. In previous centuries they would have perished naturally with a lack of survival skills. Lol

sad reality that even older people have lost common sense and the ability to problem solve. For instance my boss shouldn't need advice everyday on what to do about a recurring problem that has a simple solution

True.. specialisation and outsourcing have robbed the ability from people. Like how they look for another ass to blame .. they look for another to solve.
