Do you find the religious right neither?

I would be the last person to question anyone's belief because we live in a free society! It's only when certain religious groups get self righteous and appear hypocritical! Why? There isn't any love or compassion for one another!

I grew up with these people, and I believe they are both evil and frightening. Child abuse and molestation is both common and covered up. Many of them are definitely sociopaths. Example: my stepfather's father was a pastor. He started raping his daughter when she was 3. The mother knew but ignored it. At one point he decided to take a trip to the Holy Land, which was (of course) funded by his church. He was gone for over a year and brought back all sorts of neat souvenirs. Too bad he left his wife and 3 small children alone with no income for a year. Priorities... God or a drunk driver intervened when the eldest kids were 13 and 14. Their parents and younger brother had gone on vacation without them, and were killed in a car crash. They were sent to live with the grandparents (gpa also a pastor). They got a fairly large settlement from their parents' death, which their grandparents took in order to build themselves a nice house. My stepfather spent his entire life believing that he would get it back when they died, since it was HIS money. Lol. They gave the money to his uncle (another freaking pastor) and aunt, neither of which had ever given a damn about their orphan niece or nephew. These people aren't even the worst. I have no doubt in my mind that they would murder people if they felt their God told them too. My family would kill me without hesitation. The only difference between most of these people and Islamic terrorists is their situation in life. Give them a reason and they will be just as dangerous.

The whole thing about the religion of your employer being able to determine your insurance coverage bothers me. Does that mean that working for a Jehovah's witness means that blood transfusions won't be covered if you're direly wounded somehow?

And if an employer is allowed to determine how you use this part of your compensation package, then what about the other parts of your compensation? Could a Jewish employer tell me I'm only allowed to use my paycheck to buy kosher food?

@Xuan12 Wait, does it actually work like that?
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@ScrewThisImDone Currently an employer in the US can tailor an employee's insurance around their own religious ideals. The paycheck thing, not yet, but who knows? It's happened in the past.

The sad thing is a lot of them are so blinded by their faith that they don't see the hypocrisy in what they're spewing, it's pretty sad when you think about it.

The scariest religious people in my mind are Islamic fundamentalists.

There is only hatred in islam and no love only sex in the leftist religion.
But the religious left is completely without hypocrisy
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP For instance...?
@bijouxbroussard how can there be an instance when it's a matter of every instance being a negative? Like railing against the church, then pretending to be best friends with a religion that has all those traits, only worse. No hypocrisy there
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP I still don't know what you're talking about.
