@xLily Yes but you have to change the master code to because the old owner knows the master code so can come back in. Well if the alarm company came and did it thats fine but here is something maybe to suggest to your parents say the code is 1234 well you but a code 5678 the alarm will turn off but what it also does is send a secret code that you need help like if someone was forcing you to turn off the alarm so when they get that code the alarm company sends the police. also if you have people that have access to the house well they have their own code because what this does if something happens well your parent just calls the alarm company and they will tell them well the housekeeper came in at 6 am and left at 9 am so you know it was her if everyone uses one code well you do not know who did what.

@xLily Well I did warn you I am a security nut.lol Oh even though you change the codes to the alarm you still have to change the lock because the old people still might have keys yes the codes have been changed but they can still open the doors so not good . All entry doors should have deadbolts on them and that is you must have a key to lock the door handle locks are no good at all and give false security some doors may have a handle lock and deadbolt this is okay but really not because must people just lock the handle lock and leave may no they both have to be locked so if there is only a deadbolt on the door well they have no choice but to lock that. Now what your parents may want to door is to have one key for all the locks this is good so people do not have to carry a ball of keys with them. How you can do this is two different ways you can go to Hardware store and ask them for how many locks you need with the same key number. The second is call a locksmith and they will do it for you. Another security tip is at night everyone should charge their phones beside their beds that way if there is problem well your phones are right beside you.

Yes most places they all have different keys and different locks but when people renovat they put the same but still have them change because if the house was renovated you have no idea how many workers there were and who may have kept a key.
