I Have Something Random To Say

Who knows how World War 1 began? For those who don't here it is.

It began when the heir to the Austrian-Hungarian throne was assassinated by a Serbian revolutionary in Bosnia in June of 1914.
Russia warned Austria not to attack Serbia. Austria disregarded the warning; Russia moved troops to the Austrian and German borders. Germany mobilized to counter this threat. France was warned by Germany to stay out of the Russian-German conflict. France replied too vaguely for Germany's satisfication, and Germany declared war on France.
Germany than invaded supposedly neutral Belgium. Great Britain was committed to protect Belgian neutrality and declared war on Germany.

Lol. As I am writing this I realize that about half of the countries who started WW1 are where my ancestors are from.
(E.g. Germany, Great Britain, and Belgium.)

If you're interested in World War 1, the youtube channel 'The Great War' is fantastic, though I do warn you that there is a lot to catch up on if you want to watch it all.

Ad far as I know it is quite accurate.
Austria did attack Serbia as far as I know.

@walabby: that is true. What do you think about their reasons?

I think that they were f****** crazy,but it's all history now. Hopefully the human race won't make that mistake again.. :/

@walabby: I agree.

Austria did declare war on Serbia, Russia mobilized to support Serbia so Germany attacked France through Belgium, thereby bringing Great Britain into the conflict because of a treaty guaranteeing Belgium security. I guess France was a friend of Serbia??? So complicated..

Ummm ... is that entirely accurate?? Did Austria actually attack Serbia then?
I'll go check...
