I Love Blueberries

It all started a lil after my fifth birthday, my obsession with blueberries, lol!

You see, my dad had to have an emergency appendectomy, and was laid up at the hospital, receiving hemodialysis for the toxins that had spread in his blood when his appendix burst on the operating table.

THEN; my mom was super pregnant with my brother, and was scheduled to have a c-section with him, seeing as I was born via c-section. Sooo, the date approaches for my brothers birth, and my mom gets our pastor to take my sister and I in for a week or so.

One morning as I walked up to the table, I smelled a tantilizing aroma that I'd never smelled before. Before me were blueberry pancakes (panacakes as I said back then). I bit into one, and I could've swore I heard angels sing, that's how good they tasted. And ever since then, I eat blueberries as often as possible, and they really are great antioxidants, because though I'm 33, will be thirty-four in November, people always tell me I look much younger than 33, like I'm still in my early to mid twenties. When people ask my secret, I smile and tell em, "good genes. And blueberries, tons of blueberries!!"
I am blueberry obsessed and have four handfuls of them each day.

I have a fantastic mail order source for frozen farm fresh blueberries in Michigan if you want it.

For what it's worth, science has largely discounted the value of antioxidants alone. The body actually benefits from a certain amount of stress and it is the body's response to this with both the antioxidant and the corresponding enzymes that makes the body stronger. But...studies consistently show that people who eat a lot of fruits and veggies live longer. So bottom line is eat those berries.
