I Have Social Anxiety

[b]The thought of going to walmart makes me crazy lol. I mean I do go, but then I forget to get what I need because all I can think about is getting the hell out lol. And I hate it when people stare expressionless gawks, why do people do that, do they know it's very discomforting lol? So I don't get out much, only to work and do what needs be done and back home I go. My therapist suggests there is nothing wrong with that, and he thinks it is actually society![/b]

I take a list and focus on collecting only those items on the list.... Then I get the heck out of there.

But I mentor/care for a young adult that has schizoaffective disorder. He has MAJOR anxiety issues. My goal is to teach him the life skills he will need to survive in this world. Shopping "off the list and then getting in and out quickly" is just one of those life skill lessons I teach every time he needs to shop for his necessities.

why would people gawk at you expressionless? Are you odd looking? You don't look funny in your picture... I think you perceive it that way. Anxiety does that

Nothing wrong with that but you should not feel anxious just going about your business. Gotta deal with the root cause of that anxiety and expunge it by the roots!
