I Would Go Back In Time If I Could

In college don't like it. Miss living with my parents and three brothers who I always took for granted and are my best friends. Literally everyone from my small town I knew as friends for over 10 years of my life and now the only times I will ever see them again is Christmas and Summer, doesn't even include the friends who have left my state and are not coming back ever.

I don't wanna grow up there is nothing to look forward to except for work, marriage, and eventually death. I miss the long car drives around my city talking about life, our future, and possibilities with friends. I miss the simpler times where we would just watch TV for hours while it was snowing outside. I just can't get over the fact that things will never again be the same.

I don't want to make new friends and once everyone starts working, moving away, and getting married I know things will never go back to the way they were :(

Thanks for listening.

There's probably a lot of people with similar feelings, especially in first year. \\Find people who like road trips and long talks and tv mornings when it snows.
Your old world isn't disappearing, it's just expanding. Just because somethings are different, doesn't mean everything has to change.

I'm sure you'll find people who want to make lifelong friendships too.

And if you really don't want to "grow up there is nothing to look forward to except for work, marriage, and eventually death" then you won't. You'll do something else that you like better. As they say : life is what you make of it.

That is tough. I can understand how you feel. I hope you do make it a point to stay in touch with people and not just on Facebook. Is there a reason you had to go away? What about going back and finding a life in your hometown without college? Any decent jobs there? An apprentice to someone in your town who makes a decent living? (Like a plumber or real estate person?) Or maybe start or buy a business? Is there a way you can go back and get some of your earlier life back?

Your life will be different, embrace it. Who knows, you may enjoy it.

I know just feeling really nostalgic and finding it hard to move on. I know things will probably improve over time. Thank you though I really appreciate it!
