Teddy, The Creep.
A little backstory first:
I live in a relatively safe neighborhood but, shit has hit the fan quite a few times. Unfortunately, I’m a popular young woman with creeps so, I’m used to being creeped on but, NOTHING will top our neighbor, Teddy. Everyone calls them “ the deliverance boys “.
Now, I used to only see Teddy or one of his sons once a day while waiting for the bus to take me to work. I would do my best to make as little talk as possible & make it look like I’m too busy to talk, having one word answers for him. It was working well, until I started seeing him more often than I would have liked to. A week ago, I ran into him for the 3rd time & when I asked him to please stay six feet away from me, the look of HATE on his face was intense as he looked at me up & down while walking away.
I haven’t seen him in a while, until last night. At around 3am, I woke up for some reason, thinking that I heard something. Since I sometimes suffer from flashbacks & hallucinations, I brushed it off as one of those & tried to use my coping skills to shake it off, like usual. As I’m putting my headphones on, I heard what sounded like a scratching noise & a tiny thud. My cat was with me so, it wasn’t her. Her eyes grew darker & I felt my heart sink. I heard another small thud, this time a lot closer. I slowly got out of bed & as I did, I felt a sickening feeling at the pit of my stomach. That’s when, I heard the bang on my bedroom window. I ran out to Joe’s room ( Joe is a very close family friend who is staying here ). Joe looks at me & asks why am I up. I told him I heard a few small series of banging coming from outside my window.
He tells me to stay put & goes outside. After 6 or 7 agonizingly long minutes, Joe tells me the coast is clear for me to head back to bed. He stayed in my room with me to be a gentleman, even though I said I was ok.
This morning, Joe is up first. We sit down to breakfast & I ask him what the hell happened last night. Now, I’m a straight shooter so, I can take bad news. Joe sighs & says when he went out there, he saw Teddy & yelled at him about what he was doing outside like this. Teddy said he didn’t mean to wake anyone & ran off. When Joe stepped forward, he found a ladder, on its side above my window. This creep was trying to climb into my room.
Joe called the police right than & there & gave them Teddy’s address along with photos of the ladder. I’m ok now & Joe is home with me all day, just in case.
