I Like To Observe People

A co-worker whom I do not like and probably doesn't like me introduced me to a new associate as they were in passing. I can bet my bottom dollar that that person told the new associate not to talk to me, or that I'm mean, stuckup and whatever else people say about me behind my back. I say this because its happened before. An associate will converse and chit chat with me. Then once they are around another person ( who doesn't like me) they stop talking to me and/or their demeanor towards me changes.

It's funny how I thought high school behavior ends at 18...
One of the biggest lies my mother ever told me:
"When you grow up and go to work people stop acting like that"

@HUMANTRASH True. I wish I were warned that life would be this way

Oh dear, how juvenile! Things like that make me appreciate being a freelancer.

@iamnikki It was clear to me early on that I wanted to freelance/run my own business. It was some hard work to get there, though, but I don't regret it.

@Uncle That's how I feel. I've worked since 16. Screwed over many times at each job. I feel like I don't want to work for someone but I don't know what to do.

@iamnikki Well, if you can, you might try out freelancing. It is not an easy thing to do, though. I admit I was lucky a few times, and having a wife with a steady income also helped a lot. Anyway, if I can help you in any way, let me know. :)

This happens. The truth comes to light eventually. Just wait for it and mind your work.

I honestly thought office drama was heavily exaggerated on TV before I started working for Corporate America... Sorry to hear you've been the target of such antics
