Lobbying. Legal bribery. In capitalism, inevitably, since money is power in capitalism, money will obtain power. Inevitably, democracy bends to capitalism. Those who make money are corporate assholes who lobby (bribe) the government for tax breaks and less benefits for their employees. You know, just a few years ago it used to be a federal law that companies had to give employees a 30 minute lunch break after 4 hours of work. Not anymore. They don't have to give you shit for a lunch break. Though, it's still better than in Japan, where a few workers die from being overworked. One man recently died from sleep deprivation, working 12-16 hours a day 7 days a week. It's not that bad in the U.S. Right now.
