Absolutely. Saves my carpets years of dirt and wear and tear. If they don't like it they can leave. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Where I live you can tell the number of people in the house by going to the front door and counting the number of shoes then dividing by two. Everyone takes off their shoes here.
