How far inland do you have to be to a out the majority of a hurricane's strength?

It don't sound worth it to live by the ocean unless you can escape.

These days? Far enough that you have to worry about tornadoes instead. :(

I have to agree with you. I think the destruction and rebuilding would get old. Not worth the risk for me, I'll just visit!

A lot of people live in coastal areas due to having money-making businesses or jobs, and others like to fish, swim, surf or whatever. At least 40 miles but you can still get flooded out.

I imagine the homeowners and business insurance will force people to move inland.
