I Play Oboe

I've played the oboe since I was 10....it was all I could do at my first lesson actually to make the reed speak. And yet I'm now studying on both the oboe and its egg-laying bigger sister the cor anglais, for my degree!

Have to make your own reeds? Double reeds are crazy tough instruments.

@AnneHoney I still can't say I'm very skilled at making reeds though I [i]can[/i] do it. Scraping them for 'fine tuning' is ok, very much an associated art though!
