I Like Dr Who

On this warm balmy Monday June 6, 2016 I begin a new and exciting long term odyssey of Dr Who.
An Unearthly Child - Must start at the beginning, having peeked into the later revived series i was not enthused, it looked like Star Wars, but with the first here, this is more to my taste. 1963
1. Pilot episode - 25 minutes, slight confusion which i deftly resolved in less than 5 minutes, the disc begins with The Pilot Episode, and then on the episode menu is followed by episode 1, which is the same yet 2 minutes shorter.
2. The Cave of Skulls - 24 min, cave people, tense drama, the sand is cold!! I pause after this, letting 49 minutes simmer to blend the flavours of top notch television science fiction, until the taste and temperature speaks with clear crisp authority - Proceed at once to:

3. The Forest of Fear - 23 min

and

4. The Firemaker - 24 min

I agree. Look at the reactions of Barbara and Ian. They are real reactions from real people. You'll seldom find that in New Who, which at the time of writing has descended into farce. Look how grubby the four travellers are by the end of the story. Look how scared they are by the ordeal they have suffered, and weep. Dr Who will be great beyond this story but never as 'real' again.
