I Support Law Enforcement

One thing I don't like about my country is that there are many people who think that if a law is (in their views) unfair, you have the moral right not to abide it.
I think this mindset is totally wrong. If someone thinks a law is unfair, the moral right is to try to change it, but until it remains unchanged, it must not be broken, and those who do should suffer the consequences.

I obey the spirit of the law... what the law was intended to do when it was created.

But when both local government and law enforcement don't execute the law as intended and are themselves in violation of those laws they are supposed to uphold, then how can they hold you to the letter of the law when they are in violation of it themselves?

In my country and especially in the city where I live this is the case when it comes to traffic laws. They have a double standard here and that's not how it's intended.

As for other laws. Politicians are corrupt and they make corrupt laws. The democratic system doesn't work because politicians are not doing what they said they would before they were elected. So when they create corrupt laws that the majority of the people are agains, then why should these laws be obeyed? When laws only serve the people in power and large companies so they can legally continue harmful behavior at the expense of the people, should you obey and be a "good" law abiding citizen?

In a democracy the task of politicians is to serve the people. It is not their task to rule over the people. Therefore when government and law enforcement misuse their power and are slowly turning democracy into a dictatorship, should you obey or revolt agains the government that oppresses you?
