@jackson55 [b]2000[/b]! 😳 I only have some operas on DVD (well, some 50). Apart from that, I subscribed to the Apple Music Service, they have everything I would ever want to hear, and I pay them something like EUR 15 every month (it's a family account, 5 devices can be used simultaneously).
@helenS I have a friend that worked for Tower records when they were still in business, many free LP’s came my way. Digital music is ok but I still love the sound of vinyl.
@jackson55 Yes I know, it's not the same quality. On the other hand, I have access to millions of albums, many of which are hard to come by, or would be very expensive. And I'm not exactly rich.
@helenS one can find just about any kind of music you want on the net. Digital format is quite good now. When CD’s first arrived I thought they were quite harsh sounding.
@jackson55 Apple Music is only mp3. I know there are lossless formats for audiophiles. Personally I'm not an audio enthusiast. I have some operas which are mono recordings.
@helenS Yes, I know many just want to hear the music and not that interested in the quality. I have nice equipment, it can sound like a concert hall at my house.
@jackson55 I kind of expected that, in a way! 😁 We have only some small bluetooth speakers, by BOSE and DOCKIN. Their sound quality is surprising though, considering their size.
