I Expect People To Disappoint Me

The sad fact is, there are few people in this world, who, at their core, can truly be called "good".
I have the seen the true natures of people. Relatives, friends and strangers alike.
All have disappointed me. My so-called family has been dead to me for years. My so-called friends all left me, and strangers at best, ignore me.
The sad truth is, there is no one I can really depend on besides me, and I've made peace with that.

Sometimes I wonder if we just expect too much out of people. If there are no expectations then there is less chance of disappointment.

@SW-User I used to be like that, but my faith was never rewarded. It's possible that someday I'll find a person I can have faith in. Not holding my breath, but it's possible. If there's one thing I'll always have faith in, it's possibility.
