I Think I Am Too Open To Strangers

I have a hard time understanding how much is too much information when meeting people. Like when they ask about my past, often the heaviest things are the most relevant so I answer honestly. I think I scare some people away because of it. Too much too soon kind of thing, but that’s who I am.
To me it doesn’t matter how long we’ve been friends or if we’re even really friends, if you ask I’ll answer. I don’t understand why I should change what the answer is or omit it to make someone else comfortable. It doesn’t make sense to me. Life isn’t all roses and butterflies, sometimes bad things happen and they have a lasting impact on the people they affect.
Idk, what you you think? Am I too open about these things?

I don't think anyone can be too open. I'm the same way, I'll answer any question truthfully when asked. So, it also seems natural to me. I do understand some people are not comfortable with that, which is fine. Everyone is different. The people who think this way will appreciate your honesty an open personality.
