You sound like a writer :) Let me try to explain what you wrote to my own understanding what you mean. What your saying is when people are materialistic it causes them to be kind of too self aware of whether they're are as awesome or cool as they're expected to be, which is not based on how they're meant to truly feel, but based on the perception or opinion of others, which if you ask me, is not necessarily what a person should be totally concerned about. And thus, it defeats the purpose of being who we should be not necessarily living each moment based on the expectations of people. And so in conclusion, to be oneself is something that is merely kept.' Well, I'd say, i think we all have a choice. To allow what doesn't make positive or better to influence us or to be ourselves and be productive.
