I Am An Adult Who Loves Animated Movies

So I saw myself a new animated movie earlier last month..the movie in particular being the new offering from Dreamworks simply known as Trolls. No this movie has nothing to do with the infamous Troll b-movie or Homestuck, and it's not to do with internet trolls either. In fact this movie is inspired by and based on a certain popular toy craze created by Thomas Dam in the early 60's. Yep, those little guys with the funky hairdos! Now when I first heard about this movie - I was kind of like Branch, very pessimistic and uncertain and prepared for the worst. But eventually the more previews and such I saw of it, the more it began to warm up to me. When I saw clips of it, it reminded me of the designs in Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, as well as certain worlds in the Mario and Kirby games. As well as Croc 1 and Croc 2. And of course my personal favorite PC game series next to Zoo Tycoon, Creatures.

Part of the reason why I was pessimistic at first was because Russell Brand voices one of the characters and my history with Brand isn't entirely a ray of light. Why you ask? Because weeelll.... considering how controversial the man is and everything and how much I hated him in Arthur and Get Him To The Greek, but I realize that within that murky puddle there was something good about him (like for example his villainous roles in A Bear's Christmas Tale and the circus episode of A Bear's Tale, along with Rock Of Ages, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and of course Hop and Despicable Me 1 and 2 and his show-stealing role in the Aka What A Life music video). And since he's redeemed himself after the whole 'revolution' thing was a complete dud, I can safely say that he has definitely improved. He was very likable and charming as the voice of Creek.

I genuinely found myself liking the movie because it really is a cute and entertaining movie with a great message.
