You should check out a group called Mother Mother! They're an odd bunch, but I like them. Try To Change is one of my favorite songs they've done. :)

@thepreposterouspanda Thank you! Will do!

@SW-User Absolutely!! I have many strange and wonderful music in my collection at this point. :3 Are there any genres you tend to be drawn towards more than others?
SW-User
@thepreposterouspanda New Wave (usually 80's) and Alternative are probably my two faves. I like Indie too, and the song you shared is very nice! I love the instrumentation. Strange music is great!

@SW-User I very much agree!! Are you familiar with Arkells at all? They're another Canadian band that I'm quite fond of (though I've never managed to catch them live when they're headlining! xD )

This is one of my faves from them, among many others. :)

@thepreposterouspanda I like it! I don't know them by name, but I feel I've heard that singer's voice before. 🤔

@SW-User They put on a good show for sure! Man, I need to write some more myself haha. I love making music, but that part of me has been asleep for so long. 😅

Do you like music in foreign languages as well? :3
SW-User
@thepreposterouspanda I like anything that sounds good to me! And wow, I think writing music is such a wonderful thing. A musical mind is truly a gift. I know nothing about it, and regret not taking any music in high school. I'd love to learn some instruments eventually, though.
P.S, thank you for the sunflower! I love it because it's a symbol of my fave band Tears For Fears. :D If there's any gift you'd like, let me know!

@SW-User My musical education is all self-taught, but I play decently well at this point. :) Still so much to learn though! I come from a musical family, so I was always surrounded with it as I grew up; I started playing guitar when I was 15, and started writing songs on day one!

Hmm. Okie doke! Then you should check this song out! It's German, and the title means "I sang of you the entire time." :3

His voice takes a bit of getting used to, but I like their sound haha.

@thepreposterouspanda I like this, and the sound of his voice! And that's awesome! The guitar sounds hard to learn. I think I'd like to learn piano and some wind instruments. I have a keyboard I was given when I was little, and I can play basic melodies, but have trouble playing with both hands. It's impressive that you taught yourself!
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@SW-User My dad actually taught me my first three chords (which I think were G, C and Em haha). :) I love it so much! I have old recordings, if you'd ever be interested in hearing them. :3 I wish the quality was better, but it doesn't sound bad for a 12 dollar mic from Walmart! :D

You should totally do it!! :3 The more you practice, the easier it is. :) I started on drums when I was 13, but it's hard to write songs that way haha.
SW-User
@thepreposterouspanda Hey, you've got to start somewhere. 😝 Is there a specific genre you like to play? And thanks, I really should! Maybe I'll pull out my old keyboard again.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@SW-User I honestly don't know what I would call my music haha. Folk? Indie? Alternative? WHO KNOWS?

That's one of my old recordings! (And a VERY old picture of me! I was probably 17. :o )
SW-User
@thepreposterouspanda This is very nice! I definitely get some Alternative vibes from it. Thanks for sharing. :D
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@SW-User For sure! I got really, really sick in 2010, and it messed my motor skills/voice up for quite a while. I've been working on getting it all back for the past few years now though. :)
SW-User
@thepreposterouspanda Oh jeez, that must have been hard on you. I hope recovery is going well for you!
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@SW-User I'm still disabled at this point, and always will be (thanks to lesions on the brain and a hip replacement in 2012; what can I say? I go hard! xD) but I'm a much happier person than I ever was when I was "healthy". So it's all good. Just another crazy story at this point. 😌
