I Want to Remind You

I want to remind people to be careful of what you post. Not because of the danger, but because your words effect others. My grandmother (who looks like Santa's Wife), is posting about how fat and ugly she is, or think she is. Now all of her grandchildren girls are talking about how fat and ugly THEY ARE at the ages of 14 and older. Also as her grandchild, it is hard to hear my grandmother talk so badly about herself. It hurts because I want to help but I know I can't. So remember, your words effect others and to some, they effect them more then anyone's else.

Thanks for that wise reminder and I hope the female members of the family find happiness and stop judging their worth by the way they look

I'm about to post a story about this kind of thing. I've had to learn a lot about overcoming negative stereotypes about looks. My mother always told me how bad I looked.

I'm so sorry people have hurt your grandmother. All you can do is be there for her.

Thanks, this made me feel a bit better knowing I was heard.

@TheStoriesTruth: I agree we should think about what we say, not just online, but always. I struggled with eating disorders for years as a teenager. Just be there for them. It's all you can do sometimes
