Is Scientology a cult,

I used to live right up the street from their Celebrity Centre in Hollywood and know a bit about how they operate.
It's FAR more of a cult than a religion but is set up in a different way than most cults that rely on a living leader to control behavior.
A total mind fuck either way. The type of abuse is mind blowing.

The Church of Scientology is a racketeering organization run by a very serious criminal. It is not even a religion or a real church. For proof of that read a book or watch a documentary called "Going Clear".

They need something more updated technically and sophisticated then tin cans to measure the soul.

It doesn't even seduce the imagination.

It is just boring.

Cults ARE interesting, and it and every cult is always more than just a cult, the more we learn about them.

depends if you are already crazy and like being controlled and think enemas are fun.
