@KA9ha Place the tin & contents in a zip loc baggy and throw in your garbage. If you don't have deodorizing garbage bags but have Lysol, spray it around.

It states canned sardines are good 3-5 years after it's expiration date. Yours are on the complete end of the "good until" date. If it were me, I wouldn't take a chance. You don't need to screw up all the time you've spent staying at home with the possibility of having to go to the hospital for food poisoning.

As long as the can wasn't dented or damaged, that will last a while yet. Still edible.

Technically you can eat it. You will at best just get violently ill, worst you'll die horribly, if in doubt chuck it out
