Are virtual reality headsets going to become a replacement for reality...

the way reality TV has?
VeronicaPrincess · 61-69
The tech is in its infancy. It will probably ensnare more & more people as it evolves - folks who've become increasingly disgruntled with their present state of "reality".

@VeronicaPrincess Cyborgs? I don't think that's part of God's plan.
VeronicaPrincess · 61-69
@MarkPaul We don't always follow His plan. 😔

MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@VeronicaPrincess Yeah, I've heard of this.

I think they are step one to an eventual merger in reality and technology. That's the basis of augmented reality. Instead of technology being an alternative to your surroundings it will augment and raise our experiences to a new level.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Thespis Interesting. Like reality 2.0.

@MarkPaul Yes, Google Glass, but functional. Google just pulled the trigger a little too early, and before the technology was ready. Ideas like a walking tour, where you see through an augmented reality device and text boxes label the sites for you. Instead of looking at your GPS the actual road will appear to have a line and arrow. FB will see your friend and remind you about their birthday as you approach.

A replacement for tv I think.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Gothichorror Possibly, although the headset is kind of inconvenient.
Gothichorror · 22-25, F
@MarkPaul At first maybe but we’ll get used to it I’m sure ☺️
Not necessary. There is a holographic landscape all around us.
Myzery · 41-45, F
Man, I hope not.
So, yeah, probably.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Myzery Yes, now that's the spirit.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
nah, it gives me an headache
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@MarkPaul sounds like you'd enjoy sword arts online, an anime.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@MartinTheFirst Yes! I just watched the trailer. So much for my "original" idea. :-)
