I guess it depends on who you went to and of course I am in housing in a different state. I didn't have to have a co-signer.
I never had this problem co signers on apartments aren't a thing in my state.

Well why do you need a cosigner ? And if it's possible maybe give a month deposit pr as other have suggested find another apartment.

@updown2020 I need the apartment because it's close to my University and cheap but they require a co-signor!! or else I pay the full one year lease which is impossible.

@AlyphNull What really if you cannot find a cosigner they want one year up front? Well have you found anyone yet? It might be hard because that is something very big to ask them to do.
