I Love Calvin and Hobbes

Best Comic Ever... Without a doubt, the best comic ever. Peanuts is a very close second, but Calvin and Hobbes is just magnificent. I truly was Calvin as a kid. My parents say I was a terror :) Not because I was obnoxious or spoiled, but just because I was just a very active child, and hard to look after. I can still read these years later, even though I've read them all several times before, and still completely crack up at him, or ponder with them as they're riding on the wagon. I'm extremely grateful that Bill Watterson brought this lovely comic and these wonderful characters to life through his pen.

Calvin said one of the most profound things ever said by a comic book character: It was after he found the wounded raccoon and rushed it into his mom, because he knew she could make it better. After it died, he said

"Either it's totally random, or God is really mean, and either way I've got the heebie jeebies."

I also liked "Peanuts", but I have always thought that "Bloom County" was the next best comic to "Calvin and Hobbes". I would give "Calvin and Hobbes" a 9.95 - assuming that nothing is perfect - and would give "Bloom County" a 9.90.

I miss all three of them - Calvin, Hobbes, and Opus!

I definitely remember that storyline. Love the quote. What a great strip...
