Ever feel more comfortable when you find a tick?

I spent the weekend in the woods, and I have throughly checked myself for ticks at least twice by now, and I haven't found one. I should feel safe, but the lingering anxiety of possibly finding one later at a worse time is still there. It's almost like finding one is more comforting than not finding one, because at least I caught it.

Anyone else go through this, or am I just paranoid?

Not really, no. Because then you're checking everywhere making sure there aren't anymore and then your skin crawls for hours afterwards. Lmao

Spiders and stuff don't bother me, ticks creep me tf out though.

@silver1985 Oh yeah, I love spiders! Ticks and mosquitoes and other insects that bite and feed off of me give me the creeps. Especially the ones that could transmit lifelong diseases if you don't catch them in time. I hate the thought of those things.

@FaeLuna Mosquitos don't bother me much aside from being a nuisance.

Anything that literally burrows itself in your skin can go somewhere else though. Far away.
I had the experience of one of those burrowing into my neck when I was younger, that memory stuck with me.

I keep a safe distance from spiders too, not afraid, but don't want to get into a situation with them. It's a healthy respect. Lol

@FaeLuna Leeches creep me out.

@FlowersNButterflies I don't like swimming in lakes and rivers specifically for this reason. I watched a news feature on medicinal leeches, and even that creeped me out. No thank you.
