Ever feel more comfortable when you find a tick?

I spent the weekend in the woods, and I have throughly checked myself for ticks at least twice by now, and I haven't found one. I should feel safe, but the lingering anxiety of possibly finding one later at a worse time is still there. It's almost like finding one is more comforting than not finding one, because at least I caught it.

Anyone else go through this, or am I just paranoid?

I used to be really good about being able to feel them on me before they were able to attach, but that ability fades with age, I guess. I don't usually worry about it too much. likely not as much as I should.

@stound I have never been able to feel them crawling or biting. It's always like a day later when I accidentally notice them attached and have to pull them out.
@FaeLuna I can understand. I think I just learned how because I grew up in the middle of a forest. learn how or pull ticks every other day.
