After The Breakdown May 14th 2017

My finger tips are feeling a happy pain
dancing on the strings again
It might take a while
but it still makes me smile
to be able to see myself again.

You can live you can belong
you can have the right and wrong
You don't stand in my shoes
and you don't pay my dues
and you're not writing this here song

My eyes got wet before the break of day
when I was up all night with too much to say
I will never forget my feet of clay
and it could never hurt that much to pray.
Lay some new tracks and learn some new licks
and stay the hell away from politics
It's all just dog and pony tricks
It really isn't something I have to fix
I just need to walk away.
Just turn around and walk away.

There are so many different kinds of tears
For love or pain or joy or fears
I haven't cried like this in years
but it's not quite what it appears
I'll be right here when the smoke clears

So there no need to make amends
what's a little treachery between us friends
it's the art of the heart
to help a man start
to find his way back to himself again
