Doesn’t make it less rude. Dining is usually a social event. it’s rude because hats shut down communication at the table.When your head is down eating there’s limited eye contact and communicates that the person you are dining with can not be bothered to connect even though you dine at the same table. Kind of like “i’m here but i don’t wanna talk to you.” @DuchessOfMapleSyrup
@NiftyWhite i get it. to clarify, i meant that it isn't considered rude by today's low standaRDS. I STILL THINK PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE OFF THEIR HATS.

no, table etiquette went away a long time ago for most people😕. i don't tolerate people at my table on their phones though.
