I Have Had Surgery

I’ve had 3 so far. One was because I suffered a pneumothorax when I was just a toddler, which was absolutely terrifying for my parents, another one was when I was about 12 and had appendicitis, that was the first surgery that I’m able to remember, then at the age of 16 I had 2 tumors removed from my ovaries. And now, doctors are recommending another because I’ve got progressive syringomyelia, I’m absolutely terrified to go under the knife again; but at this point I may not have another choice. I haven’t got any of the symptoms yet, but the syrinx has grown in a very small span of time, which is a bit alarming, I don’t have Chiari Malfunction which most often than not is the cause of syringomyelia, but thank god I don’t have that. I also do not have anything wrong with my brain, which is a great sign, but I’m still worried as I hope that the syringomyelia was just something I was born with, because I have other diseases that I was just born with, and don’t affect me. But that is not the case, because the damn thing grew. So it is scary as hell.

I’ve had about 6 MRI’s done of my brain, spine, lower back, etc. all with and without contrast. And during one of them I had a panic attack after being in the machine for over 2 hours without being able to move, and loud noises going off every 5 seconds. I have another scheduled of my lower back on April 6th, and the same day another of my neck, which needs me to move, so see the function of it with different gestures.

Wish me luck, I’m already freaking out.

2 hours is insane. just seek better doctors. it doesn't take that long with current technology. are you in Africa or something?

@unknownpoetx
It was long, because it was two in one. One of my head, and then another of my spine.
Both had to be with and without contrast, which is why it took longer than usual.

@SabrinaL again, doesn't take that long with current technology even if it was for all that.

I’m sorry, but unless you are a radiologist, you have no idea what you are talking about.
