In my boys-only school I was usually selected for girls parts in plays. The earliest I can remember was when I had to play the role of a birthday girl. I wore a blue dress and had my long hair brushed out and held with an Alice Band.

@silkydrawers I am sure you would have. In our school it was not a case of trying out, the teacher picked out the person they thought most suitable for the role and tried out a few before choosing.
