My sisters got spanked but never in public. They got slippered and the brush or strap.

My aunt used to line myself up and three cousins as we waited our turn. She was very strict and we would either just be wearing underpants or nothing at all as we stood in line.

@mazza62: I didn't find it embarrassing really, I was used to it. Being something of a tomboy I was most often in trouble with boys, sometimes I'd be the only girl amongst 5 or 6 boys. We usually only had to bare our bottoms immediately before bending over to be spanked.

Yes its much less embarrassing to only have pants pulled down immediately before the spanking.

We had teachers at school who could be very cruel. One teacher seemed to take great delight in humiliating us.
she spanked us a lot. Also she took much pleasure in confiscating our shoes and socks. It was most bizarre. She would publicly display our shoes with socks tucked in them as if they were a trophy.
Back then, parents always took the side of the teacher. If we complained to our mums they would say we must have deserved it.

Completely true. And teachers were pretty rampant back then. And when we got got punished at school we got it at home again. Mum would spank me as soon as I got home

Thats good. All my friends got spanked at home when spanked at school.

Boys wore shorts back then so marks were visible

@mazza62: Good point. We usually got our bottoms smacked so marks were not immediately visible. he exception was when we were punished for having our skirts too short. In those cases, some teachers would give us a whack with the slipper across the back of each thigh, just below the hemline.

Very painful. Some would really spank us very hard until legs were red raw. they would lift the hem of the shorts up and tan us. Of course some just pulled them down and spanked our bare bottoms

It was painful and the red marks were clearly visible of course. It was intended to embarrass us but, after a while, it became something of a badge of honour.

You appear to be talking about infants' and junior schools. Having our legs slippered for having our skirts too short happened in secondary school, including 6th form.

Yes it was the same at the schools i went to. There wasnt a day went by when someone didnt get spanked.

It was like that in my secondary school. We could usually count on there being a few slipperings every day.

The gym teachers could be very severe. We did PE in just shorts, nothing else. And underpants werent allowed to be worn. Teachers would use a green flash plimsole on our bottoms and it really hurt.

My PE mistress was like that, she'd slipper us for the slightest reason, usually at least six smacks. Quite often, she'd find a reason to slipper the entire class. We all had to bend over and stay in position as she went along the line three (or more) times giving us each two smacks each time. Anyone who attempted to stand before we'd all had the full dose got extra.

The boys' PE master was a lot more easy going.

Yes we got lined up a few times. One of the female gym teachers was very strict and she dished it out.
Most of the male gym teachers were almost psychotic.

@mazza62: It was the opposite with our PE teachers. The main male teacher was OK, his female counterpart was a sadist. When the PE master caught me with a boy behind the sports pavillion. he let us off with 2 - 4 medium smacks of the slipper. When the PE mistress caught us, we got 6 - 12 very hard smacks, sometimes bare.

I remember one time we were sneaking a look at the lunctime girls gym club. This was strictly forbidden.
We got caught and were dragged into the gym by the ears by the strict PE teacher. She said that as we were so interested in gym that we must take part. so we had to undress to underpants in front of a class of giggling girls and then take part in the gym class.
we were teased throughout.
needless to say we never peeped again
