I Ache For You

My foolish heart aches for you and the hole you left when you went away refuses to close and mend. I see you in the supermarket and then when I look closer, you're gone and someone else is standing there.

My silly heart aches to hear you giggle at my jokes. I am plagued with loneliness each day, no matter what crowded room I'm in. I check my phone several times each day, just in hope that you'll send a message to me.

My heart aches to be with you and overrides my logic and good sense. That seems to me to be a mark of that affliction we call love. So I'll just count my blessings and mind the ache in my chest for it is a reminder of what I seek in this life.
