I Am Not Racist

I don't consider myself racist but I just don't get it. Why can there be a NAACP, UNCF and other organizations for race but as soon as anyone even mentions the slightest thing about an organization being for Whites or a specific race it becomes racist. I am not talking about the KKK, I am talking about some sort of organization trying to do the exact same thing that the first two organizations do, except for another race. I do not mean any offense I am just trying to understand. Why do there have to be any organizations in regard to race? Doesn't it just fuel the racism by having them out there? I have Mexican, African, Latino and African American Neighbors, we all have our own idiosyncrasies and we don't worry about race, etc when we are together. Each one of us has the same opportunities, we all live next to each other, we don't even really bring up race. And when it does come up it is in a joke. IE. When it started to rain The mexican guy saying he needs to get inside before he gets wet back again.

These organizations were created to focus on specific races, to celebrate those races, give them the same opportunities, and build up the community as a whole. With most organizations, especially old fashioned ones and the ones that have been around for awhile, whites are usually prioritized and other races are overlooked and passed over. The organizations that are geared towards a specific race is not to exclude. It is to build that race, show them they deserve the same opportunities, awards, and recognition as any other race, especially whites. Other races need these organizations to help build them back up because they've been torn down, overlooked, stepped on, and mistreated, and misjudged for centuries.
