I need more information...having lived in a house with two teenaged boys and knowing HOW they eat...
For example, the sliced ham meant to last a week for lunches, gone in two hours because nobody made them a sandwich and they wouldn't make their own and just inhaled stacks of sliced ham.
If somebody adult in the house who pays for the food (all the food, not just the food they eat) wants to reserve one item for themselves and is not ashamed to declare it 'theirs alone' - I don't have a problem with it, although I've never done it and have never seen it done. This is assuming nobody else in the house is starving...

Unless we're talking about non related room mates, "This is my shelf in the fridge, this is yours, this is the common area shelf - please mark all items that are yours" No.
