I try to but then my mind plays a cruel trick and I end up right back at the beginning, crying, angry, sore and hurt, hopless, ect

if I do become brave then I end up cowering internally because I'm scared so I can't show my true emotions
Try harder. Be persistent. If something is not good for you get rid of it.
