i have always found mainstream rock to be fucking lame and politically motivated, some asshole in a suit somewhere is all like "hey these young kids are all riled up about tuition causing debt and are rioting, well hey lets get that emo band we own to make a song called lets start a riot for these idiots to sing along to!" the very establishment they think they are rebelling against is spoon feeding them what the think is their own beliefs.
