I Am Normal

When I was a kid, I was treated like a freak. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me but I tried very hard to be "normal." What I didn't get back then was that I already was normal. Most of us were but we tried desperately to be what we already were because we were convinced something was off about us. These days, it seems everyone is desperate to be different and treat anyone who claims they're normal as though they're awful people. If I say I'm normal, I get a lecture. Ha. That's a cycle of stupid I don't care to indulge anymore. I'm me, I'm myself. I happen to be normal whether I'm treated like a freak or not. Whether you try to be normal or try to be different, you aren't just being yourself. To hell with everyone else.

Lastsunrise, normal is usual. It means what is usual. How are people usually and how is a person usually. There is no "it depends." you look at the majority of people around you and you look at yourself, and you either are or aren't how they are. Whether a person is or isn't similar to the majority of other people, that shouldn't matter and shouldn't dictate whether or not a person should change.
