A customer accused me of ripping him off. Guy looked like a tweaker. He buys a monster and a pack of cigarettes. Mundane purchase nothing unusual. I tell him the total and he starts in on me. He says it should be cheaper and accused me of ripping him off. I explained I just scanned the items in and this is the price. I even offered to physically double check the prices but he wouldn't let me talk. I ended up spinning the screen around and broke it down real simple for him to show I wasn't trying to rip him off. Homeboy then launched onto a weird tangent about how he is somebody and not a nobody. He's a nobody but a somebody who has been on the news and in the newspaper. Then he switched to talking about how he's a good person and how he still lives with his mother. I told him I never said he was a bad person and I'm just trying to finish this transaction because a line is forming. There are two others behind him at this point.

He then tells me how he comes in here every morning and how everyone knows him. Really? Huh I work a lot of mornings nowadays and have never seen you until now. As I'm telling him his total again trying to wrap this up he talks about how he tips the workers here lots of money and how he is a good person and a somebody. I ended up canceling the transaction and told him to leave. I told him since he doesn't want to listen to a thing I have to say and clearly doesn't want to pay the price shown he can have a nice day. Ranting and rumbling all the way out the damn door. Yeah cute go home to your mother bet she's real proud of you.

The customers behind him were cool. Couldn't say sorry enough to either of them.
