I Want to Runaway and Never Look Back

I have this masterplan that if I don't have any of my goals accomplished, getting my GED and Driver's License before im 30 im disappearing one day before my 30th birthday, and going far away from everyone thats ever wronged me because, part of it is their fault im in this situation in first place, and im done Im sick and tired of taking all the blame for neglect, i'm legally disabled and it was her responsibility to see to it that, before i was sent out into this world that i would be capable of taking care of myself, with the help and the tools that i need. According to the law she wouldve been legally responsible for me until 21, but instead she just took the check and said the hell with me.

However irresponsible someone else has been, now it is your turn to take responsibility for your life. Finish your GED before you go running off someplace. Life will be better for you wherever you choose to be if you have a high school diploma on your side.

@greenmountaingal i failed it over 15 times already i'm trying to get an accomodation but my last school in which i only went up to the 7th grade theres no record of me ever having an iep and i have to do everything all over again unless my mom was lying about me having an iep in school just to make it seem like i was just lazy

Im tired of being ignored and treated like i shouldnt exist and being ridiculed for how im made, im made like this and people need to accept that and help me make my life easier so im not complicating yours being another tax on your income, at least if no one cares about me as a human being care about how much money its costing you

Do you know why you keep failing the GED so many times? Have you actually taken the GED test itself or just the practice test? Why are you having such a hard time passing it?

If you live in California, there is an easier way you can get a high school diploma. Let me know and I'll explain it.

In most states, you can enter and attend a community college (2 year college) without a high school diploma.

@greenmountaingal i mean the actual test, and what's the process in California?

@Genie If you are a resident of California you can take something called the CHSPE or California High School Proficiency Examination. It is easier than the GED. The diploma is good in California and other states which recognize it (which is most states). You can use it for the army, but the Marines require a GED. You can get a federal government job (like the post office) but if you want to get eventually promoted to an administrative level job you would need a GED. Most colleges and universities accept the CHSPE but not the top ivy league colleges like Harvard or Yale or elite places like Stanford.

The reason I asked if you've taken the actual test is that I know it costs money. I also know there is a pre-test that is normally given before the actual test. (I'm a retired teacher of teens and adults). So...I'm wondering...who did three unusual things: Spent a big pile of money for all those test fees, did not give you a pretest ahead of time to see if you are going to pass, and, worst of all, set you up for repeated failure. No wonder you are frustrated.

@greenmountaingal theres no required pretest where im at and ive voluntarily gone to ged classes and ive done studying on my own i didnt fail every portion to the test just the math but its just being seen as an "oh everybody is bad at math" i had a tutor who's dayjob was a chemist tell me that i'm going to be repeatedly stuck on the same level of learning times tables, because of my inability to do mental math which is something required to pass the 2nd portiom of the test, after years of studying and repeated failures i just began taking the test by chance hoping to pass or that i marked the right multiple choice pattern in order to pass

You are actually doing pretty well considering how hard it's been for you. Please, don't give up. I was terrible at math; I required a special ed teacher and months of tutoring before I could be considered for entrance to the college I wanted to attend. It seems as if a good special ed.teacher could help you. I worked in a school at a state mental hospital for 10 years and over the years I saw a LOT of mentally ill and learning disabled people pass the GED, often after multiple attempts and much tutoring. Please don't run off unless you have some solid plans for your future.
