Being submissive, in any sense of it, isn't weakness but being able to fit a situation and overcome instinct. What's that old proverb that a maple is weak and breaks in a storm but a willow that bends is the stronger for bending while facing the wind. Something to that effect.

I also would put a good amount of blame on feminism and confusing loudness for strength.
