Would you ever

Take a homeless person home and try and change there life?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
It's a nice altruistic idea but fraught with potential problems.
You have to remember that homeless folk have had to adapt 'normal living' to 'survival living' !
Trying to adapt the other way around may involve several failed attempts before they get it right.
Having been homeless myself i know how this works !
@Picklebobble2 👍 always realistic!😌
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@sspec Funny enough, i found it wasn't money or food or all the normal things you consider when looking at this question from the 'giving' end of things.
It was human contact. Chat. non-Interaction with other people that i found so isolating.
@Picklebobble2 Likewise, my friend. 😌 Amazingly precious and tremendously soothing is the readily available compassion for others in a heart.

I did once. Turned out he was bi-polar and an amazing man when he was on medication. But then when he felt “normal” he would stop the meds and cycle back to homelessness.

I will change your life instead. It is spelt t-h-e-i-r.
RemovedUsername634280 · 41-45, F
And just for the record Im also educated. Doesn't mean I'm all pompous about spelling and getting things just so. I can type how i want if you don't like the fact I don't put the right words in, just don't answer the question.

@RemovedUsername634280 Pity that your maturity extends to deleting my posts in this thread... the innocent one too
RemovedUsername634280 · 41-45, F
I thought you said you weren't going to carry on with this discussion and yet here we are again.
One can't change anyones' life though can suggest ways to help them improve and I have done the same a couple of times.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
No, there were times when our family took in someone one time and it turned out badly, and I know another family that had similar results. Even though my heart tugs for them I learned something from that, if they are willing to work with the system they'll get back on their feet and be OK.

just waiting for the right time when god make me eligible to do so.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
I've tried. Most I could do for him was feed him and let him use the shower and washing machine.

I've spent countless hours working with them
RemovedUsername634280 · 41-45, F
@SW-User is it always true that they can only be helped so much? Are there ever exceptions to this.
RemovedUsername634280 · 41-45, F
I meant to write that last messege to jmh
SW-User
@RemovedUsername634280 There are truths to both but I wouldn't say always
🙂 My family let homeless people stay at our house before..

@RemovedUsername634280 No biggie! I did but I knew what you meant
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@RemovedUsername634280 At least two people noticed, and I don't see why others wouldn't. Using the wrong word stands out like a wishing well in the middle of a desert.
SW-User
No. I help how I can sometimes, but I'd never put myself in any danger to do so.
SW-User
No
I couldn't change their life
I support in small ways though
SW-User
No. I do think i could ever do that.
