I Used to Get the Cane At School

I got the cane six times at school. Some people I talk to are horrified when I tell them I was caned, not once but several times, a few times with the maximum six of the best, over the desk skirt up. It wasn't brutal but our head sure knew how to make it hurt. I ne er knew any girl who didn't come out in tears.
However I want to assure everyone I never look back with any regrets about it because my canings were always very well deserved (although I might not have thought so at the time) and very fairly administered by the head. Of course it hurt like anything and I couldn't sit down properly for quite some time but I can honestly say the worst thing I ever suffered was a short term sore bottom and a realisation that misbehaviour brought consequences which was sometimes painful.

Thank you for that very personal view of your school canings, and expressing what many of us feel about them, but cannot express them as well as you have. Quite literally, everything you wrote describes my experience of school canings and how my views have change since I left the Headmistress' study in floods of tears. If ever there was an instant way of ensuring school pupils know behaviour has consequences, a caning is it. I remember the fear and loathing at the time, but I don't think I ever felt resentment or unfairness. i had been 'caught' and I knew the punishment was a caning. I wonder if the contemporary mind can comprehend this simple calculus. Some of the comments you have had suggest it is incomprehensible to them.

@GailCob My wife was a deputy headmistress when caning stopped. She immediately noticed behaviour standards drop. She would have relished the chance to use her cane again.

I didn't at school thank goodness but my dad used the cane on me. 4-9 strokes usually and skirt up knickers down
