I Am Leaving

I have had some interesting discussions here but I feel like this is a shadow of what it tries to replace.

I cannot find that sense of community that EP had... to be truthful I've not found it in any of the substitutes either.

However this place seems to be growing into less of a community and more a collection of individuals. It's not home. I can't find comfort here.

PErhaps it's because communication wtih the powers that be is even more limited than in EP, but I suspect it's more a combination of change, both personal and communal.

I'd like to thank the people who put this together. I'm absolutely certain they worked really hard with great intent, but somehow this just isn't what I need right now.

So I wish you all well, and hope for you everything that you hope for yourself (unless it involves harm for others.)

ask EP why it closed. I understood their explanation.

What is the true difference? It was a mature, large, well run site with good comms from the directors. That community has fractured into disparate groups. Here is no community, just noise.

It's true difference to this site was that it had one hundred times as many members and it had been running for ten years.

That was the good.

The bad was.....

Admin gave up on us. Trolls and bullies took over.

@Riffster: looking at your profile, I can only see two visits. The first a month ago, and now today. Unless you have deleted a lot, you really haven't given us much chance to be here for you. So, I don't know why I'm fighting so hard to keep you from walking out that door. But I just am.

I never did know you on EP. I obviously don't know you here, but for some inexplicable reason, instead of saying the same to you as I've said to others, I'm trying to talk you out of going. I must be losing my perspective. I'd like to say I know of a better site with better support, but I've tried a few dozens, and I've found nothing to rave about.

@Serenitree: Well if you're only seeing two visits, then there's clearly a technical issue that needs resolving. I probably logged in every other day, or maybe twice a week - and I have posted a few things in the months I've been here, both as original work and responses.

I'm sorry that's given you the wrong impression.

I did give this place a go.
