Theyre ok. Living in Britain, for me its kind of standard. There are very few women without an english accent 馃槣
For me, being a "Yankee" it's the reverse.

Talent exchange? Send some cajun/texan accents over here?
@RoleplayingBrit: sure if I can find them. Lol

"English accent" means nothing though. Each city has it's own accent. Hell, in London, each borough has a different distinct accent. Accents vary wildly between different age groups too.
@RoboChloe: that's a bit of an exagerration I'd say. Could you really tell the difference between a Sutton accent and a Kingston one?
RoleplayingBrit31-35, M
@RoboChloe: i know that. But to the untrained ear there are only a couple of accents in england. She couldnt tell Brummie, Scouse and Geordie apart! Im sure its the same everywhere.

@Opaque: A bit, yes. But not by too much.
@RoboChloe: seriously? Sutton from Kingston? You're better than me then.
RoboChloe26-30, F
@Opaque: When you grow up with a different accent from everyone around you, you learn to notice the subtle differences.
I agree to an extent but I was born and raised in London and though I could easily tell North from South from West from East, I don't think I could tell neighbouring boroughs' accents apart. But if you can , that's impressive. Edit , sorry I misread your post , ok I get it you can do it because your accent was different from those around you.

@Opaque: Not in boroughs I don't know very well, but in the area I grew up in...
@RoboChloe: I misread your post and edited mine. Anyway did you grow up in N,S,W or E? I love the old cockney accent but it's dying out fast .
RoboChloe26-30, F
@Opaque: Cockney... Ugh.

I've lived in the south for most of my life.
@RoboChloe: ugh to real old cockney?! Each to their own I guess. I'm from the West. London has changed so much but it's a wonderful vibrant, beautiful and exciting city, which I never fully apprrciated when I was your age bracket as I took it for granted. Hopefully you already appreciate it maybe?

@Opaque: The road system is fucked beyond repair, the new buses are horrible, the new tube trains are great, but they're only on the District and Circle lines, which I never use, the government is about as competent as a Stormtrooper's aim is accurate, we're on the top of the UK's carbon footprint list, the NHS is choking to death, our money is losing value, oh, and BREXIT.

But other than that, yeah, London's great. 馃檮
